Potato vs Tomato Europe Map by Machine Learning Algorithm Based on Per Capita Consumption

When browsing Reddit a while back, I stumbled upon a map of Europe that was quite interesting and somewhat made sense to me, since Spain and Italy are known for using tomato in their cuisines. So, I decided to validate this map.

Obtaining the annual consumption per capita data of both tomato and potato for each country in Europe, I produced the maps below.

To generate a map of two groups with a border, I used a machine learning algorithm – clustering – on the consumption data. The results are as follows looking quite similar to that first map.
